RECENT EVENTS and PROJECTS:
Dec 2022:
- Dr. Monds joins the Indo-American Association, a 501c3 non-profit promoting the performing arts of India across Houston, Texas and nationally. He now serves as their Director of Operations.
Fall 2022:
- Sitar performance – Local Artist Series by Indian Music Society of Houston accompanied on tabla by Pandit Shantilal Shah. (Dec. 3, 2022)
Spring 2022:
- New choral commission for the Butler University Chorale – Premiered April 2022 – Schrott Performance Theatre, conducted by Dr. Eric Stark
Fall 2021:
- Premiere of a new solo work “Iterations” for violin and piano at Archway Art Gallery in conjunction with an exibit of paintings by John Slaby.
Spring 2021:
- Sitar Performance: Live Stream Studio session for Wonky Power Studios (Houston Texas) accompanied by Jason Zinn, tabla
Winter 2019/2020:
- Premiere of new string trio “Stages” at the Houston Contemporary Craft Museum. This work was commissioned by the Kinetic Ensemble in collaboration with artist Nathalie Miebach.
Summer 2019:
- Performances on sitar/surbahar with Indian classical vocalist Mandar Phatak — July 15 (Live Oaks Meeting House, Houston Heights) – More info
Spring 2019:
- Dr. Monds is now teaching at The Overture School of Music (Houston, TX) in piano and classical guitar
- New work, Laurel, for percussion nonet completed commissioned by Dr. Brady Spitz
- Sitar performances at Durgabari (Houston, TX) and the Stafford Community Center for the Indian Music Society Ghar Bhaitak
Winter 2019:
- October 2018 to January 2019 – Residency in India (Mumbai and Kolkata) for Wagoner Research Grant

- 30 November 2018 – Stude Concert Hall (Houston, TX) – Premiere of Submarinul Iertat with the Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra

Summer 2018:
- New collaboration with the Bayou Bend Gardens (Museum of Fine Arts Houston) announced. More updates forth coming on a “walking concert experience” through the gardens.
Spring 2018:
- Recipient of the 2018 Cooper Prize for Orchestral Compositions (Rice University) for Submarinul Iertat for large orchestra
- Recipient of a Wagoner Foreign Research Grant through Rice University supporting new research in North Indian Classical instrumental music particularly on contemporary trends in the Imdadkhani sitar gharana
